U.S. Mint Error Coins for Sale:
Repunched Mint Mark
Until 1991, mint marks were punched into coins by hand with a mallet and punch. If the punch was not properly aligned after the first punch, a multiple image would occur, resulting in double Ds for the Denver Mint and double Ss from the San Francisco Mint.
